Free Audio Course – Lesson 6

Another edition of Portuguese With Carla Podcast, another free lesson on European Portuguese.

This week we bring another guest to help us out. Over time, different accents, different voices with varied tones and rhythms will help you grasp the spoken language more and more easily.

Don’t forget to try the exercise at the end of this post. How well do you understand coloquial Portuguese from Portugal? Test yourself with our quiz.

M – Olha, deve ser a senhora da recepção…

C – Sim , estou a ir.

Sr – boa noite

C – boa noite, não sei se a senhora da recepção o informou, mas este quarto não foi limpo. E nós acabamos de chegar… eu mostro-lhe, venha cá ver.

Sr. – Ah sim realmente, não foi. Pedimos imensas desculpas! Deixe-me telefonar à gerente.

Sr. – A gerente lamenta a inconveniência e como um pedido de desculpas gostaria de vos convidar a ficar na suite presidencial.

M –  Lá terá que ser não é…

(in the new room)

Sr . – Também têm uma garrafa de champanhe – cortesia do hotel.

C – Muita obrigada.

Sr. – Obrigado nós pela vossa paciência. E desfrutem da estadia. Se precisarem de mais alguma coisa, disponham. Uma boa noite.

M & C – Obrigada/o, boa noite.

I think the quiz was very hard to understand. Because it was so casual and fast for a new learner. But it helped me to understand how fast you guys are talking 😀 ( I meant portuguese people 😀 )
Anyway, your podcasts are amazing. Muita obrigada a todos 🙂

Even with the blanks filled in, I wouldn’t have understood anything. I only heard “”dish, fish, ca dentro ”’….rins,…figado””
    Alem disso, entendi nada………

It’s tricky we agree. The value in this sort of exercise comes when comparing what you got (even if little) to the correct transcript. Specifically, it helps you identify sound patterns.
